Maintenance Coordinator

Maintenance Coordinator (Plant) Oil Sands Mining

Location:  Calgary or Edmonton/Fort McMurray

 

The Design Group Mining Division in collaboration with our client, a Global Leader in the Energy sector, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Coordinator for their Mining operation.  Reporting to the Plant Lead, you will be responsible for providing stewardship on the maintenance of Plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

 

        Strong focus on managing safety and leading

      safety initiatives.

       Provide leadership on maintenance of Plant Equipment including management of maintenance programs, coordination of contract supervisors and technicians.

        Management of annual maintenance budget and

      stewardship.

        Provide expertise and troubleshooting experience to ensure equipment availability and low cost maintenance programs.

        Manage equipment strategies, tasks, procedures, failures analysis and reporting processes.

        Management input of annual maintenance activity schedule and effective allocation of resource to accomplish work plans.

       Manage continuous improvement processes including maintenance work execution efficiencies, root cause failure analysis, and reliability program improvement.

       Manage training program improvement opportunities and ensure training plans are effective.

       Interface and liaison with Operations, Planning, Engineering and Mine Technical organizations.

       Participate in risk assessments and HAZOPS.

 

Key Qualifications:

 

·         +15 years related industry experience including oil sands

·         Related heavy industry equipment experience.

·         Strong leadership and management skills.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·        Strong commitment to continuous improvement and safe operations.

·       Ability to build good, respectful working relationships.

·       Flexible with travel.

·       Ability to work future Fly In / Fly Out roster from either Calgary or Edmonton.
