This client is highly regarded for their processing of a key mineral and are seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Project Engineer to provide leadership in planning and implementing outages and turnarounds, which are major events up to three times per year, and to continuously improve basic maintenance systems at manufacturing facilities by improving equipment reliability and utilization.
This position has excellent visibility and a job done well will lead to additional responsibilities.
Maintenance Engineer – Project Manager - Chemicals Minerals
Requisites
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
· 5+ yrs experience in the chemical or similar industry.
· Experience in turnarounds outages of heavy industry involving continuous process production lines.
· Excellent planner and effective user of software.
Responsibilities
· Achieve world-class standards in safety, equipment related process improvements equipment rebuilds.
· Plan and manage facility Turnarounds/Outages that minimize overall cost of ownership while allowing the facility to continuously operate at or exceed, production, quality, and on-stream standards.
· Provide tracking methods to ensure work is executed within profit plan guidelines, administer the contracts, and develop outside labor to meet the turnaround goals.
· Develop and improve vendor management, vendor performance, and cost controls, and perform regular vendor audits to assure quality outages at a cost effective pricing.
· Support maintenance with innovative turnaround programs.
· Define critical equipment path prior to outages and turnarounds
· Continuously review and evaluate new technology, processes, methods, and equipment for possible use.
· Communicate equipment status, write reports, maintain records, measure key metrics, plan activities, attend all pertinent meetings.
