Growth has created a few excellent opportunities with our Johnson City area snack food manufacturing company.
We are seeking 3 specific management roles with requirements below:
Maintenance, Logistics/Purchasing and Quality Assurance
TITLE: Maintenance Manager
EXPERIENCE: Snack Food Manufacturing Environment
Job Description: Working knowledge of all Heat and Control areas. Working knowledge of corn cooking equipment, ovens, fryers, compressors, boilers, mixing equipment, PLC’s, calibration of equipment, mechanical repairs, welding, A/C and D/C motors and controllers, silo systems and VFFS. Manage at least three hourly mechanics as required.
Responsibilities: Implement good preventive maintenance program and identify cost savings, productivity and safety improvements for the plant. Must have a working knowledge and comply with FDA, USDA, SQF, OSHA, EPA, Federal, State, County/City regulations. Knowledge of MSDS, HAACP, and GMP’s.
Responsible for identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities. Promote a safe work environment by conducting regular training sessions, daily inspections and participate on the Safety Committee.
Ability to support the Managers department’s budget on both labor and supplies
Qualifications: Four year degree preferred, but not required. Applicable certifications in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment required. Must have experience with HVAC and a working knowledge in PLC controllers and process instrumentation. Working knowledge of drawings, schematics, blueprints and job layouts a must. Work experience in high-speed snack packaging equipment is required.
Experience:
Five to ten years of increasing responsibility in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a multifaceted operational exposure is required. Food experience, USDA and SQF expertise is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license at time of hire
Must be able to work in USA
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Able to work flex hours and shifts as needed
Must be hands-on and have ability to communicate both verbally and written
Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) is required
TITLE: Logistics/Purchasing Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for procurement of commodities through the development and implementation of strategic plans and management of supplier relationships. Also responsible for price negotiation, planning, production, inventory control, quality control and factory control.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create implement KPI’s
· Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers
· Prepare purchase requisitions and follow-up on purchasing activity including unacceptable goods or services. Determine cause of problem and take corrective action.
· Work with suppliers/brokers to help lower costs and secure agreements
· Make sure production has necessary raw material for production runs
· Communicate with production team to ensure scheduling is running as planned
· Address any raw material issues that may arise or any last minute schedule changes
· Work with A/P department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the suppliers.
· Work with Carrier/Brokers on appointment pick-ups and advise on any shipment delays
· Negotiate rates with Carrier Representatives
· Plan, Organize, Control and Maintain Housekeeping of Warehouse operations
JOB SKILLS:
Good mathematical skills. Effective verbal and written communication. Expertise and Proficiency in computer software, i.e., Word, Excel/Spreadsheets, e-mails and other programs
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 Years in Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics. Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.
BS or BA in related field
Must have a valid driver’s license at time of hire
Must be able to work in USA
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for supervising all phases of a comprehensive QA/QC program specific to the manufacture of salty snacks and related snack foods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Monitor processing of finished product
· Assure compliance to all product specification and coordinate corrective action plans when necessary
· Supervise placement of non-compliant finished product on QC hold
· Maintain QA/QC lab and related equipment including all calibrations
· Monitor compliance of GMP’s, personal hygiene, sanitation pest control and customer policies pertaining to food.
· Assure control of hazardous and controlled materials to include outside chemical suppliers.
· Monitor incoming materials (food ingredients and packaging) and report deficiencies to Plant Manager
· Manage Plant Certifications pertaining to Kosher and organic compliance.
· Generate applicable daily, weekly and/or monthly reports pertaining to quality and/or food safety
· Coordinate investigation of customer complaints and respond to customer via verbal or written communication.
· Monitor Production of Test (RD) products
· Supervise and maintain customer sampling program and assist in shipment of test products to customers
· Upload all pertinent data on finished product to appropriate site on Share Point portal
· Assists in staffing hourly QA/QC department and supervise all QA Technicians
JOB SKILLS:
Experience with lab equipment and protocols. Efficient verbal, written, communication and mathematical skills
Proficiency with office computer software, i.e. work processing, e-mail and Excel/Spreadsheet
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience in QA/QC. Experience in a Snack Food environment
EDUCATION:
BS or BA degree in Science related field
Must have a valid driver’s license at time of hire
Must be able to work in USA
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
