Maintenance Mechanic - San Jose, CA (1341)
The maintenance employee will provide support for the overall maintenance effort in a timely manner. Perform routine, pro-active, corrective and preventive maintenance. Train less experienced mechanics as part of the formal training program. The maintenance employee is responsible for safe efficient performance of plant processes, systems, and lines in their assigned areas. They must be multi-crafted (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, analytical), and their work includes on-line troubleshooting and repairs, operator training, preventive maintenance, and identification of planned work/improvement opportunities. Maintain professional attitude with all other departments. Maintain good attendance and advise their superior of any tardiness or need to leave early.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for area consisting of multiple systems.
- Daily uses of mechanical, electrical, controls expertise
- Follow safety/LOTO procedures
- Keep reliability focus
- Be a functional member of the shift operations team
- Conduct routine audits of operating areas
- Keep and maintain an open and professional line of communication with shift associates
- Maintain a valid company issued Fork Truck operators licenses
- Respond to work orders in a timely effective manner
- Periodic work in confined spaces.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, repair existing equipment in area of responsibility
- Inspection condition monitoring
- Identify improvement opportunities enter planned work orders
- Select, complete, transfer/close Planned/unplanned work orders in a timely manner
- Provide accurate information to subsequent shifts for follow-up
- Complete PM and/or Planned work orders as work load permits
- Assist in routine shut-downs start-ups around common down days
- Be a resource during project installation
- Assist in system startup
- Work with Supervisors Engineering to make ongoing system improvements
- Assist in training new Maintenance Shift Technicians
- Assist operators in understanding basic machine/program functionality
- Assist operators to learn basic PM/ repair techniques
- Constantly upgrade personal training.
- Safety conscious at all times
- Any other functions as assigned by management
Experience Required:
Prior maintenance experience in a food manufacture facility preferred
