Maintenance Mechanic
Opportunity for strong Maintenance technician for beverage line operations.
Emphasis on machine maintenance, change over, trouble shooting, electrical, and utilities (including boilers, compressors, chillers)

We develop, manufacture and deliver technology based ingredients, flavours, and integrated solutions for the food and beverage industry worldwide. Our Seattle beverage plant is currently seeking qualified maintenance mechanics, with a background in industrial maintenance, to support the efficient operations of our bottle and packaging lines.
The primary objective for the position is to support the facility and production operations.
- Performing routine and non-routine maintenance identified through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Conducting equipment line changes
- Completing assigned responsibilities through a work order maintenance program.
Responsibilities
- Trouble shoot and correct equipment issues
- Set up and change over equipment to support production
- Perform routine and non-routine preventive
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues
- Support production, quality, warehouse, sanitation, and administrative staff with projects
- Maintain all maintenance documents according to plant requirements
- Operating and maintaining plant utilities, including Boilers, compressors, chillers, electrical, water, etc.
- Support capital projects as necessary
- Recommend and implement plant efficiency projects
- Adhere to all plant safety requirements
Set-up and maintenance of the following high speed production equipment
- Inline filling, capping and labeling equipment
- Rotary rinser, filling and capping machines
- Depalletizing tables, bottle unscramblers, capsule applicators and labeling equipment
- Case erectors, packers, sealers, and check weighing systems
- Case coding and marking systems, and palletizing equipment
Requirements
- 3+ years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, preferable from the Beverage, Food, or Pharmaceutical industry
- Strong background and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and general building repair
- Knowledge of sanitary design for processing and packaging for the food industry
- Knowledge of liquid mixing, pasteurization and packaging systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain level 4 boiler certification
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC's and control processes
- Knowledge of utility use and regulations for water, steam, electrical, etc.
- Knowledge and ability to comply with GMP, HACCP, and Safety programs
- Good computer skills (Microsoft, Lotus, and preventative maintenance software)
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mentality
Additional considerations will be given to candidates with:
- Strong electrical background
- Knowledgeable in PLC programming and set up
- Boiler level 4 certification
- Sanitary welding

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, manuals, schematic diagrams
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide, as well as calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions and percentages.
- The physical demands for this position requires extended periods of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, grabbing, and holding. The employee is also required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above this amount.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
- Minimal travel may be encouraged for training
