Maintenance Supervisor-2nd Shift (1365)

This position will work primarily on 3rd shift to oversee the maintenance function in this large food processing environment. Applicants should possess supervisory experience and a working knowledge in electrical, mechanical, construction and facility maintenance. A strong hands-on background in machine repair and exceptional leadership and problem solving skills necessary. Applicants shall have a basic knowledge of high speed production packaging machinery, and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs. This position will lead maintenance supervisors who direct mechanics electricians, in predictive preventative maintenance and machine repair. The position will train and motivate employees on proper work methods and safety procedures, uphold USDA regulations, work closely with production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs. This position will also help to create, modify and adhere to Preventative Maintenance programs, maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, maintain accurate inventory records, provide regular status reports to Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Manager, operate according to Union Agreement, perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance as needed, and perform other duties as assigned. The Maintenance Supervisor job is a full-time position with working hours from 11:00 pm until 8:00 am Sunday through Thursday nights with occasional weekend hours worked for preventative maintenance or special projects. The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. The Maintenance Supervisor works throughout the entire plant facility. This position requires occasional use of a computer terminal and parts inventory management. Some heavy lifting or repetitive motions may occasionally be required. The person performing this job has the opportunity to change positions or move around frequently during the course of the workday. The work environment is generally clean and dry and the temperature is 45-50 degrees. Responsibilities Assigns duties and responsibilities to maintenance crew members. Directs maintenance crew in accomplishing assigned work. Works with crew to resolve maintenance related problems/issues. Handles worker questions/problems/complaints. Assures safe working area and safe employee work habits. Assists workers in completing assigned work. Trains employees in proper equipment, building and utilities maintenance processes and procedures. Assure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures. Evaluates and communicates employee work performance. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent.
