MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR Job in Baton Rouge, Louisiana US

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor in the Baton Rouge area.

The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, and leading a multi-skilled group of mechanics and IE technicians to maintain and repair equipment with a minimum of downtime while achieving the highest degree of equipment reliability in a most cost effective manner. In addition, the Maintenance Supervisor is expected to provide necessary leadership and technical support to continuously improve equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor. The Maintenance Supervisor must foster a climate where the focus of the work force is centered on safety, quality and team growth.

The position is responsible for implementing cost effective common systems cascaded by the GSS organization to ensure consistent application of global engineering standards, maintenance best practices, maintenance training, computerized maintenance management systems, and work processes. The Maintenance Supervisor requires an individual with strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business sense. Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential to the position. Credibility and respect across the organization is important. The Incumbent is a key member of the Gulf Coast Maintenance Leadership Team and the Baton Rouge Area Leadership Team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* A minimum of 10+ years in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment with maintenance, construction and/or operations roles is desired.
* Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills are critical to the position.
* High school diploma with preferred relative technical school or college degree.
* Relative experience will be given strong consideration in lieu of formal education.
* The successful candidate must be a self-starter with a solid work history and excellent references along with the ability to work in a team oriented environment.

2) Strong mechanical, Instrument Electrical problem solving skills.
3) Strong Knowledge of the Maintenance work process.
4) Strong Leadership - Organizational and People Skills. Flexible.
5) A passion for driving excellence.
6) Strong computer skills.
7) Strong oral and written communication skills.
8) Knowledge of SAP a plus.
9) Ability to multi-task, self motivated and willing to travel.
