Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Zeeland, MI Relocation: Yes Overnight Travel: 5%
Compensation: Salary of $50k - $65k + Bonus (target 8%)

Group Info: Be part of the Engineering / Maintenance Group of around 60 people, supporting 2 plants at the same location with around 300 people. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager and supervise the department of 12 electrical / electronics / automation technicians in a non-union environment.
Note 1: This is an Exempt position, working the afternoon shift from 4 pm to midnight. The right candidate will be from a food / pharmaceutical / high volume processing industry, and not from a discrete parts production industry such as automotive.
Job Description:
40%: Provide maintenance engineering function. Develop best practices, support continuous improvement projects, perform Root Cause Analysis, etc.
25%: Supervise Maintenance Technicians.
20%: Provide hands-on maintenance support and troubleshooting.
15%: Interface with other departments such as engineering, production, packaging, EHS, etc.
· Directly supervises the maintenance team, providing effective direction, prioritization, and management.
· Assists in the development of an effective operating culture, identifying training needs, utilizing performance management, coaching/mentoring each individual and developing their core behaviors.
· Provides technical leadership within the maintenance group to resolve and/or troubleshoot production issues. Builds technical competencies within the team by sharing knowledge and providing for ongoing training.
· Allocates resources, leveraging expertise to execute required mechanical and electrical maintenance activities that include; reactive, corrective and preventative maintenance and inspections.
· Establishes strong working relationships with key customers and demonstrates accountability with a focus on customer service.
· Utilizes HR systems to manage employees, ensures compliance with all HR policies, effectively manages employee relations issues in a timely manner and evaluates employees based on job performance.
· Utilizes tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis as they apply to troubleshooting and failure prevention with equipment and its operational efficiency.
· Coordinates and oversees the maintenance activities, including calibrations, PM’s, process validations, loop checks, shift to shift handoffs and equipment failure troubleshooting.
· Spends an adequate amount of time on the floor supporting the team in their maintenance activities.
· Understands department budget and area financial commitments, monitors against these commitments and initiates corrective action to meet department goals.
Candidate Must Have:
- 2 year Associates degree in a technical field
- Minimum 5 years of Maintenance experience
·Minimum 3 years of experience supervising 5+ Technicians / Mechanics.
·Ability to work in a multifunctional, team oriented environment.
·Self starter, leader, multi tasker.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent people and communication skills, able to interface with people at all levels.
Candidate Nice to Have:
- BS degree in a Technical field.
- Experience with RCA, Failure Analysis, FMEA and Predictive maintenance (PDM).
- Experience with CMMS or ERP system.
- Experience with a new Predictive / Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Experience with PLC / electrical controls / automation.
- Knowledge of packaging, liquid / powder processing.
- Understanding of maintenance best practices, safety, quality, cost, HACCP, GMP and regulatory compliance.
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP).
