- Establish and administer employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules appropriate to the unit. Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instructions, and tools to successfully do their job.
- Determine priorities based on production and maintenance schedules. Makes daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to support daily schedules.
- Monitor individual and department performance and take corrective action including discipline.
- Plan for maintenance of the equipment and facilities to maximize uptime and utilization of capital equipment assets. Develop and determine maintenance plans, equipment rebuild and repair schedules, life expectancy, spare parts requirements, etc. Establish preventive, predictive, and corrective repairs. Manage emergency repairs of all building equipment in support of building production objectives.
- Provide project management of higher level (complexity) for stamping and welding equipment related projects that support the building operation and growth. Provide technical direction, monitoring, and expertise to project team members, maintenance, and management regarding the implementation of large projects.
- Develop, monitor, and make corrective actions to stay within the department operating budget targets and other key metrics.
- Provide engineering, design, and project planning to support continuous improvement projects.
