MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – STAMPING AND WELDING

We are currently seeking a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR for immediate hire in the Automotive Industry. Our client, an Automotive Supplier, seeks an individual with strong Industrial Maintenance skills, most likely acquired in the Automotive Industry, to lead their team of Maintenance Technicians in the servicing of all Plant Equipment and Machinery. Experience desired includes experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on heavy metal forming equipment and processes such as ROLL FORMING, METAL STAMPING (Progressive Dies and Transfer Dies), HOT STAMPING, TURRET PRESSES, BREAK PRESSES, RESISTANCE WELDING, MIG WELDING, ROBOTIC WELDING, and ROBOTIC MATERIAL HANDLING.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a Maintenance Team in the maintenance and repair of Heavy Metal Forming Equipment and Welding Robots (Fanuc and ABB Robots)
- Work “on the floor” in the troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and electrical Automotive Manufacturing Equipment in a very Lean, JIT automotive manufacturing environment
- Work on Cross Functional teams to address Quality and Production issues as they arise
- Assist on Kaizen Teams and Contribute to Cost Saving and Quality Improvement Issues
- Reduce Downtime of Metal Stamping Presses and Automated Welding Robots through Preventative Maintenance Functions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment, and understanding of JIT principles and requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Similar area, or Journeyman’s Certification in relevant areas, OR at least 5 years of solid, stable automotive manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and SPC methodologies.
- Strong working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic systems, including heavy tonnage metal stamping presses, manufacturing robots, and PLCs.
- PREFERRED: Experience with Progressive Dies and Large Capacity Transfer Presses
- Training and Experience with Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) in the Automotive Industry.
