Tasks: The Maintenance Technician Level I will be started in a program of on-the-job training for a minimum period of one year. The employee placed in this position will be trained to attain and demonstrate proficiency in the following skills: Proficient in the use and care of all field tools, such as climbing equipment, extension ladders, job related aerial lift platforms, all safety equipment, etc. The Company's safety programs and procedures. Knowledge of all Company, FCC and City Subscriber specifications and two-way radio rules. Basic television transmission fundamentals and electronic theory including Ohm's Law formulas, voltage conversions, signal levels, losses, etc. Ability to operate basic CATV equipment such as field strength meters, multimeters, signal leakage detectors, etc. Ability to calculate basic system distribution levels. Perform routine trouble calls, detect and repair system operational problems, perform sweep and balancing of system components, and perform status monitoring. Ability to assist and/or perform in a routine emergency distribution system maintenance as required. Ability to read system electronic design maps. Perform leakage monitoring and repair. Perform blind audits. Requirements Requirements: Must possess a valid Michigan Chauffeur's Driver's license. Requires a Service Technician Level III qualifications or equivalent experience. Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent and general electronics experience. The Maintenance Technician Level I must maintain and demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of the above skills. The employee must remain in this position for a minimum of one year; and the period may be reduced by consideration of the employee's formal training or work experience acquired at this level.
