Role Purpose:  Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all production and ancillary equipment (including downstream some facilities related) in their assigned area of Processing, Packaging, or P.A.T Departments.

 

Position Description:  This position will support production operations by performing preventative and predictive maintenance activities, routine production line repairs and project work. The position holder must be capable of operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting the installation of production equipment in their assigned area.  

 

Essential Job Functions:

·       Understand and adhere to LOTO, Confined Space, and all other plant safety/GMP requirements related to supporting machinery uptime.

·       Understands TPM Theory and Concepts, participating in Pillar Teams, training Operators in AM activities, and conducts Breakdown Analysis.

·       Capable of operating assigned equipment.

·       Capable of troubleshooting and repairing routine electrical and mechanical problems on assigned equipment, conduct preventative maintenance,     and support Operations in equipment setup, changeover, and training operators in AM activities.

·       Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.  

·       Work in confined spaces as required and adhere to regulations and policies covering confined space. (Mechanics working in confined space are required to learn Basic First Aid and CPR.)

·       Conduct "hot work" permit work as necessary to include grinding and/or welding as trained and as required.

·       Assist in the installation of equipment including installing conduit, pulling wire, wiring A/C and DC motors; working with electrical devices up to 600 volts.

·       Perform all mechanical and electrical P.M.s on various manufacturing and packaging equipment and electrical panels; then document WO's/PM's using computerized maintenance management system (SAP Plant Maintenance).

·       TPM Team Member Participation

·       Be multi-crafted with skills including functional electrical power and controls, understanding of PLCs, mechanical, print reading, etc.

·       Be willing to develop welding, machinist, and fabrication skill sets as needed and required.

·       Other duties include some fabrication, welding, and machinist skills, as trained and as required.

·       Must effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and upper management on a daily basis, and be willing to provide support where needed and complete other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
