Maintenance Technician Job in Duncan 29334, South Carolina US
Job Responsibilities:
· Performs daily preventive maintenance on facilities equipment and all production areas
· Troubleshoots and repairs problems with all equipment (production, facilities, auxiliary, etc.)
· Repair and/or replace defective electrical and mechanical equipment
· Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic control circuits for AC/DC motor circuits
· Diagnose, analyze and repair electronic, electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment, operating in all areas, utilizing meters, gauges and other testing methods
· Originate and process urgent work orders when needed
· Completes assigned maintenance and production paperwork and computer files
· Documents all modifications made to equipment during repairs (i.e. updating schematics, drawings, etc.)
· Demonstrates advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
· Suggests maintenance items to be included in preventive maintenance program
· Familiarizes self with existing equipment and assists in training other technicians
· Stays informed of operational activities and process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment
· Identifies root cause failures for recurring maintenance issues
· Assists in writing and updating standard maintenance and safety procedures
· Troubleshoots PLC hardware and software issues. Makes program modifications when required.
· Recommends, designs, and implements small scale automation projects
· Develops and implements PLC and drive training programs for technical staff
· Provides training to operators in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices
· Assists maintenance engineering with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
· Recommends necessary parts for repairs and maintenance with assistance from the maintenance engineering team
· Records all measurements during predictive and preventive maintenance activities to generate statistical charts for analysis
· Assists in analyzing maintenance data, recommends and leads continuous improvement initiatives.
· Assists in the installation of new equipment and equipment modification projects
· Has knowledge of and adheres to all departmental rules, regulations, and procedures
· Maintains a team effort attitude and approach
· Other duties as determined by company needs
· Building and grounds maintenance (i.e. changing light bulbs, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
· Oversee cleanliness of the plant area and ordering of department supplies and parts with approval.
· Shares in responsibility for cleanliness of the plant and Maintenance Shop.
· Authority to prevent occurrences of nonconformance in product, process, and/or systems,
identify and record problems, initiate, recommend or provide solutions control quality.
