Maintenance Technician Job in Moore 73160, Oklahoma US

 

General Purpose:              The Maintenance Technician is responsible for leading company maintenance activities and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor by performing corrective and preventative maintenance through the company work order system.  This individual will check and maintain all support equipment before the start of production to ensure proper working condition of all machinery.  The Maintenance Technician will support production and the processing of quality product to support and continually improve the quality, growth and profitability of the company.

 

 

Education Experience:  Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2-5 years maintenance experience in the food industry.  The individual must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work well with all levels of personnel. 

 

 

Specific Skills Required:   The individual must have good self expression, both orally and in writing.  The individual must be organized, have a good attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.  Additionally, the individual must be able to work in a fast paced environment with short timelines and be able to work in a teamwork environment.  The ability to perform basic reading and math computations, excellent motor skills and hand/eye coordination are necessary for the use of equipment required for this position.  This individual must be able to continuously stand or walk, lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds.

 

 

Preferred Skills:   It is desired that this individual have prior experience in trouble shooting, electronics 12VDC-460 VAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor starters, pumps and PLC controls.

 

Essential Functions:   These essential functions are primary job duties that this individual must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

 

  1. Frequently lift and carry equipment weighing from 25 to 50 pounds
  2. Understand the operation of all equipment in the production area
  3. Perform general maintenance functions, such as maintaining, cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, trouble shooting, removing, replacing different types of electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic systems and repairing equipment
  4. Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems
  5. Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls
  6. Remove and replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment
  7. Install, connect, modify and improve all types of conveyors, electrical equipment and controls
  8. Ability to start and shut down equipment for maintenance
  9. Use maintenance software to log all work performed and print reports for weekly, monthly, semiannual and annual scheduling
  10. Work safely while operating and lifting equipment
  11. Perform duties while understanding and observing company policies on food safety, product quality and good manufacturing practices
  12. Identify problematic issues and inform management in a timely manner
  13. Be present and on time at work during regularly scheduled hours and as needed in the job position
  14. Other job duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions/Environmental/Physical Demands:  

Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours in a production environment that can be slippery with food debris, wet and ranges in temperature from 30-40 degrees.  The employee must continually lift and/or move 25-50 pounds and will be continuously walking, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching and reaching.  Overtime hours are required during periods of high workload.
