to develop and support major donor and foundation fundraising across Greenpeace
You will complete the major donor and foundation team – in a role that provides support to NRO's in major donor fundraising and ensures that our programme proposals and reports are of the highest standard.

Purpose of the job
Develop and support Major Donor and Foundation fundraising across Greenpeace, in order to deliver the income targets within the Global Growth Strategy.
Ensure that GPI delivers major donor and foundation funded projects to meet major donor foundation expectations.

Main responsibilities
-Manage transnational fundraising across Greenpeace, ensuring that all approvals for major donations are secured and that Greenpeace delivers on commitments made to high value donors.
-Monitor ongoing campaign projects, in coordination with Unit Heads, to identify changes to funding agreements that will affect current proposals and reporting. Ensure that these are communicated promptly to donors and that the relationship is effectively managed.
-Provide training guidance to Greenpeace's National Regional Offices (NRO’s) and GPI teams on transnational fundraising procedures in order to ensure a consistent efficient approach and enable expansion of this funding stream.
-Ensure a current and central overview of all transnational proposals, funding given and fund transfers across Greenpeace. Ensure this information is available for timely report back to donors as well as for NRO’s and the GPI finance department.
-Monitor NRO performance through regular tracking of KPI’s against our growth goals.
-Liaise with NRO’s to follow up on reporting requirements and renewal asks for all transnational earmarked major gifts, in order to ensure that transnational major gift fundraising processes are well supported and deliver optimal results.
-Advise, mentor and assist Major Donor/Foundation Fundraisers in developing proposals and solicitation strategies. Proactively identify potential donors/foundations that match our long-term programme priorities and work with the Major Donor Foundation Manager to encourage support NRO’s to submit proposals.
-Service Major Donors and Foundations that have a direct relationship with GPI, ensuring exceptional donor care;
-Prepare proposals and briefings for major donor solicitation by the International Executive Director (IED) and GPI Board Members and ensure appropriate follow up information.
-Develop attractive funding proposals and secure high quality and timely reporting for donors working closely with GPI campaign teams and GPI Finance in order to optimise the potential of major donor relationships. Produce cases for support, managing external writers as required.
-Proactively contribute to the development of major donor and foundation fundraising strategies for Greenpeace world-wide; contributing to the support training of NRO’s in major gift fundraising in order to ensure the adoption of best practice in global learning and innovation.

Skills required / qualifications
-Significant (3 years +) experience in major donor or foundation fundraising, including grant/report writing.
-Strong influencing skills: the ability to communicate and persuade others to contribute to joint goals
-Experience of working in an international environment and sharing and imparting information and skills to all levels of staff
-Highly organised and self motivated
-Excellent communications writing skills
-Proactive self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-Experience and ability with databases and spreadsheets
-Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably one other modern language
