Management Accountant – Metals Trading recruitment
They have recently been taken over by a large corporate and as such can offer the breadth and variety of a smaller firm combined with the stability and long term career progression of a larger organisation.
We are looking for a Management Accountant to be responsible for reporting on the main UK operations. The role will involve preparation and analysis of the metals trading PLs in addition to month and year end reporting to both senior management and to group level.
This will include:
• Metals trading accounting and reporting including preparation and analysis of daily trading PLs.
• Preparation of the overall monthly management accounts package including trading analysis of the trading profit/loss, reconciliation of earnings before tax and review of expenses.
• Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts at month-end.
• Preparation of the fixed assets schedule
• Submission of the year-end package to group for consolidation purposes
• Preparation of tax returns, analyse VAT (UK and foreign equivalents) and provide cost summary analysis for corporation tax purposes.
• Assisting in cash management, e.g. management of foreign exposures, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Providing project support, assistance and cover for other team members when and as needed.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or overseas equivalent) with management accounting experience. This experience does not have to be within commodities however the individual must be able to demonstrate good SAP system experience. Knowledge of IFRS is expected as is solid experience in cost accounting and systems.
