We are looking ideally for someone wih 3-4 years' PQE from a mainly financial services background.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production and Analysis of Financial Reports 100%
This role will be responsible for all Continental Europe (excluding Luxembourg)
Responsible for the preparation and delivery of all management reporting for this region;
Responsible for ensuring the financial information provided is accurate and complete;
• Ensure all major variances in this region are investigated and explained and corrective action is taken as necessary in conjunction with the appropriate member of the Global Operations Management team;
• Provide the Global Operations Management team with the tools to help them gain a better understanding of the financials supporting their areas of responsibility;
• Be the main point of contact for the Global Operations Management team for Finance related issues in this region;
• Work in conjunction with the Global Operations Management team, be responsible for preparing the annual financial plan for this region working within the budget constraints imposed on Operations as a whole;
• Responsible for delivering quarterly forecast updates for this region and working with the other members of the team to build a consolidated approach to forecasting across all regions;
• Be responsible for overseeing the quarterly data collection for project Optimus for this region. Work with the key stakeholders to ensure the methodology used to complete templates is both appropriate and an accurate reflection of the work effort required;
• Whilst maintaining overall responsibility for financial reporting for this region, co-ordinate with other members of the team to achieve consistency of reporting across the team with the overall objective of making reports more streamlined;
• Work with other Finance areas, (including Business Unit Control, Project Finance team and Statutory and Regulatory Reporting) to support cross divisional initiatives and ensure consistency of reporting taking lead responsibility where appropriate;
• Be responsible for ensuring the corporate governance framework is being adhered to by Operations staff for this region;
• Work with the Global Operations Management team to identify cost savings opportunities within this region. Be responsible for providing updates on the delivery of these initiatives and communication of the results to the Global Operations Management team for the region;
• Develop a good working relationship with all key stakeholders;
• Act as the communication point for the Operations regional management team;
• Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to both the Global Operations Management Team in this region and the Operations Business Unit Controller.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Required
• Experience in financial services including previous experience in a financial report production and analysis role;
• Accounting/Finance designation or equivalent working experience;
• Experience in fostering effective relationships with internal clients;
• Must be able to deal with a variety of issues on a concurrent basis;
• Ability to work in tight timelines and work with changing priorities;
• Ability to work independently and as a team player;
• Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Excel;
• Strong communication skills (verbal/written);
• Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work with cross-functional teams and with all levels of staff;
• Previous experience working in a matrix environment.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Accountable to Senior Manager, Business Unit Control, Operations;
• Accountable to Global Operations Management Team (GOMT) for Continental Europe;
• Works closely with Business Unit Controllers;
• Works closely with Enterprise Management Reporting team;
• Works closely with Statutory Regulatory Reporting teams across all geographies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Position is located in London;
• Global nature of bank may require participation in conference calls outside normal working hours;
• Longer hours may be required to achieve deadlines
• Some travel may be required; less than 15% of time.
REMUNERATION: £60-£65,000 + outstanding bonus + full banking package for the best.
