Job Responsibilities:

 

·         Acting as point of contact for all MI requests from Actuarial and Finance departments.  Will work closely with other MI team members to coordinate changes impacting multiple functional and business units.  Will also liaise with Information Technology department’s Data Services team.

·         Creating and maintaining data flow documentation for these assigned functional areas.  This person should develop intimate knowledge of what information is available, how it is consumed by users, and understand both current and future Actuarial and Finance data needs. 

·         Reviewing current state and recommending efficiency improvements with respect to current data extractions, manipulations, and reports used by these functional areas. 

·         Acting as business analyst to gather requirements in converting existing Microsoft Office based databases and reports into an automated, controlled environment

·         Completing ad-hoc information requests requiring queries out of the various reporting tools/data sources.

·         Assisting with specification development in support of new system deployments and enhancements to existing systems.

·         Monitoring balance and control reports, performing reconciliations, researching out-of-balances and working with both the functional area and the IT department to triage and resolve issues as needed.

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Four year degree in finance, actuarial, or math (required).

·         Minimum of two years experience within an actuarial or financial role in an insurance company, agency or consulting firm (required). 

·         Completion of a few actuarial exams (a plus but not required).

·         Familiarity with entire suite of Business Objects software/products (preferred but not required).

·         Strong skills in SQL, Excel, and Access (required).

·         Experience with Agile Software Development knowledge (plus).

·         Ability to work independently (required).

·         Strong organization and multi-tasking skills with ability to support tasks assigned by multiple individuals (required). 

·         Ability to work in a team environment.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.
