Summary of Responsibilities:
Prepare financial and management reporting for BBVA – CIB USA. The main objective of this group is to support the CIB USA CFO by creating and implementing standard reporting for all CIB businesses operating in US. Business Management is a crucial unit for the monitoring and measuring the results of CIB.
- Properly supervise the team and ensure all reporting deadlines are met
- Report relevant management information to the CFO and all other counterparties, enhance existing management reports to be in line with the new business structure
- Prepare PL and Balance Sheet data by product, industry, geography, client and relationship manager
- Effectively manage relationships with other CIB units, which involves obtaining and reviewing financial data from the CIB team in Compass bank and coordinating efforts with CIB Business Management in Spain
- Analyze daily/monthly fluctuations in PL (by product, industry, geography, client, RM), prepare explanations of significant changes and investigate any open items
- Identify any errors (system or manual) in the daily/weekly PL and work closely with the Accounting department to ensure they are corrected in a timely manner
- Forecast PL and provide forecast and actual PL data to the CFO
- Prepare a budget by business line and product and monitor variances to actual
- Prepare the monthly management reporting package for WBAM USA
- Prepare various analyses by WBAM products (Loans, Investment Banking Fees, etc.)
- Other ad-hoc projects, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- Five plus years of experience in the Financial industry (Banking preferred), with an emphasis in management reporting or accounting
- Possess knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS, standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures; and be able to understand and solve complex accounting issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access/Macros is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate analytical/problem-solving skills
- Must be a quick learner, self-motivated and a team player
