Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manager - Cost Accounting will lead and direct the cost accounting functions for CMS-NA Vending.  This position is expected to develop into a strong business partner of the manufacturing, purchasing and engineering teams, to ensure accounting data and financial statements are accurately prepared in a timely manner, to lead cost teams at all manufacturing locations, and to ensure accurate cost estimates for new product development and roll-out.  This role will provide leadership in the areas of cost analysis, cost accounting, and cost optimization for the cost accounting group.  In addition, the position will oversee the application of cost accounting theory and work with the corporate offices and internal and external auditors to ensure that the cost accounting and reporting adheres to GAAP standards.  Strong management and leadership skills are critical to achieving success as you will lead a diverse set of growing businesses.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

1.      Oversight of the planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting of manufacturing operations.

2.      Ensure locations are accountable for consistent practices and procedures and comply with corporate policies

3.      Recommend and lead changes in cost accounting methods and procedures

4.      Analyze and interpret gross margins, cost variances, inventory movements, and other accounting reports as they relate to cost

5.      Review and present cost analysis on a monthly basis to finance and manufacturing teams

6.      Responsible for global cycle counts and inventory reconciliations

7.      Participating in the maintenance of the internal financial control environment ensuring accurate financial statements and safeguarding company assets

8.      Support / drive process improvement initiatives: process definition, accounting and reporting metrics, new product releases, inventory controls, BOMs and routings, budgeting and forecasting, cycle count program and metrics Manage and lead all domestic and international financial, accounting, and credit activities, including the review and approval of any financial arrangements, agreements, etc. being considered by the Business Unit.

9.      Establish and maintain financial calculations and representations in expense and capital expenditure requests related to operations or new products.  Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and instructions to safeguard the Business Unit assets, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations.

10. Maintain training and development plans for direct reports and world-wide function.

11. Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost-efficient business solutions.

12. Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:   CPA, CMA, CPIM and/or Master Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
Training and knowledge in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Supply Management

Experience: 

·        Minimum ten years experience in Cost Accounting.

·        Highest level of integrity and honesty.

·        Strong leadership skills

·        Ability to function as a business partner with all senior executives and their staffs—a team player

·        A continuous improvement mentality, with a capacity and energy to challenge the status quo and drive change throughout the organization.

·        Knowledge of all aspects of the business and disciplines.

·        Ability to recruit, motivate, coach and develop direct reports, creating a continuous learning environment.

·        Ability to identify and articulate problems, propose alternative solutions, have factual backup for decisions and question prior decisions if the result do not materialize as previously projected.

·        Strong cost accounting skills developed in manufacturing environments

·        Strong information technology skills.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

·        Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel).
