Manager - Supply Chain Management Freight Program Job
Job Description: Leads a cross functional team and provides consultative and management support on complex transportation and distribution issues across the Mayo enterprise and for external customers. Develops capabilities which maximize return on expenditures and can be clearly measured (freight and distribution costs and performance are clearly understood and transparent across the enterprise). One key initiative will be to lead the launching of a national freight program with Mayo Clinic as the service provider, on boarding new clients, managing the relationship between Mayo Clinic, the client and key business partners, and growing an innovative program. This individual will also manage the freight spend internal to Mayo Clinic. This includes ensuring that the freight is appropriately charged to the department, working with Sourcing and Contracting to ensure that the Mayo Freight program is within the terms and condition of the contract and the continuous improvement of the program to find value to offer to Mayo Clinic in collaboration with our business partners. Translates the departmental vision into meaningful and effective responses and results. Recognizes and organizes opportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst for realizing these improvements. Acts as a facilitator and generator of new ideas and a mediator on difficult issues. Maintains abreast of current external environment issues, plans and manages the unit accordingly. Participates in the overall management of the division by chairing and serving on inter- and intra-divisional projects/groups, task forces and committees, and serving as liaison between the work unit and other departments and agencies inside and outside Mayo. Provides high-level analytical and technical advice to the enterprise in support of strategic planning purposes. Achieves significant cost reduction and service improvement objectives (Ultimately responsible for management of $60M enterprise Freight Spend Management) Will be responsible for ensuring personnel are hired, cross trained and managed to optimize coverage of needed tasks and flexibility on priority projects. The position will have direct reports. Creates a customer service driven unit adept at working collaboratively with physician and administrative colleagues and across department and institutional lines. Builds teamwork within the division and among physician and administrative colleagues. (010432-47839) Basic Qualifications: Requires Bachelor?s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Systems, Project Management, Business Administration or other Related Field of Study plus 5-7 years experience in large-scale implementation, transportation, logistics, project management, business development, health care preferred. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience. Candidates with an Associate's degree and 12 years experience in large-scale implementation and project management, transportation or logistics (health care preferred) will be considered, with the expectation that a Bachelor's degree will be obtained within 4 years of hire. Other Qualifications: Significant, demonstrated experience implementing freight systems with large, multi-divisional companies. Demonstrated experience resolving complex business and distribution problems. Detail oriented and extremely customer focused. Supervise and/or coordinate staff as needed. Serves as primary transportation source for input of transportation and distribution related issues. Coordinates relationships with Mayo freight and distribution partners. Must have a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and strong communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio and MS Projects. Exhibits diplomacy, tact, initiative and organizational personal skills. Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Exempt Hours/Pay Period: Full Time Schedule Details: Monday - Friday Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $3,044 based on a full-time position.
