Manager - Parking Operations

Manages Service Areas Divisional Offices parking operations. Develops and implements efficient/productive parking operations, administrates staff training programs, and manages customer relations. Ensures compliance with governmental standards and regulations. Administrates, maintains, and monitors budgets. Essential Functions: - Manages the daily operations of the department to include all shuttle and tram services. - Regulates activities of staff, providing necessary guidance, and support to maintain quality performance standards. - Monitors operational programs, assuring that all parking lots/structures are maintained in a safe, clean, and operationally effective condition. - Ensures supervisors and staff comply with department policies and job specifications, including all federal, state, and local requirements. - Oversees staff training and development necessary to assume a leadership role in the assessment, execution, direction, and evaluation of parking operations. - Interprets and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local air quality, transportation management laws, and ordinances as regulated by OSHA, EPA, JCAHO. - Monitors revenue collections. - Forecast income based upon pricing statistics and current market trends, making recommendations as necessary. - Develops, manages, monitors, and justifies budget(s). - Identifies opportunities to decrease expenses and increase service levels. - Identifies and implements best practices to enhance quality of service. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Five (5) years of previous controlled/paid parking management experience. - Minimum three (3) years of previous supervisory experience. - BA/BS with emphasis on transportation, urban planning, or related field preferred OR four (4) years of equivalent experience. - Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Direct supervisory experience. - Experience working in a union environment. - Experience with cash handling, parking operations, customer service training, electronic payment systems. - Hospital/health care background. - Current California Driver's License. - Typing 40 wpm. - Proficient in Word, Excel, basic spreadsheet and computer efficiency.
