MISSION:

This position is responsible for meeting requirements in the annual budget preparation, monthly closing and reporting, forecasting, production cost reporting and analysis of variances from budget and forecasts. Work with the mill controller and mill management to provide timely and accurate cost analysis, sound financial advice and counsel to assist in minimizing manufacturing costs and meeting mill objectives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the monthly closing process to ensure that accurate and timely information is provided for both corporate financial reporting and mill cost control. Primarily in charge of all production cost and related processes.

• Assist mill controller with monthly reports for mill management team and division, including variance explanations to plan

• Work with operations to maintain accurate variable cost model, bill of materials in SAP, analysis of variances and “what if” scenarios

• Assist the mill controller in the preparation of the annual budget and required forecasts. This includes providing analysis and interpretation of financial and statistical data to operating management and by working closely with mill personnel to establish cost forecasts representing good normal operating conditions.

• Assist mill controller and continuous improvement manager in identifying and developing cost improvement opportunities, tracks monthly progress for projects

• Acts as financial liaison to assigned cost center managers and assists them with their budgets and explanations for monthly variances to budget

• Assist in Financial and SOX audits

• Mentor Financial Specialist

• Provide backup support to other team members as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• BBA or BS in Accounting required, CMA, CPA or MBA preferred

• 5-8 years accounting experience; 3+ years in a manufacturing environment is required

• The incumbent should have a broad appreciation and understanding of finance, business management and the interrelationships among these disciplines, as well as a thorough knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting operations

• Must have demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning and forecasting and interpersonal skills.

• Has understanding and ability to implement necessary internal controls, including SOX experience

• Must have proven strong analytical and organization skills, detail oriented with ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment
