Manager Actuary (Advice Delivery Wealth Protection and Mature Product)

This is a unique role for an Actuary that is looking for a different direction to their career and would like to join our Management Reporting team as a Manager, Advice Delivery Wealth Protection and Mature Product.
The role is responsible for leading a specialist team who are engaged with the Wealth Protection and Mature Product (WPMP) business in driving profit and value growth and capital management through the provision of timely and relevant financial KPI’s and analytics and financial insight into business strategy.
As part of succession planning in Management Reporting, this role will assume full responsibility for financial modelling of the 5 years Strategic Plan and rolling forecasts during 2014.
We are looking for an experienced Actuary with strong leadership and stakeholder management to be responsible for but not limited to:
- Working in tandem with the Head of Actuarial Insurance Risk Management in representing Finance as one of the members of the Wealth Protection and Mature leadership team
- Financial advice, decision support and relationship management to the WPMP business
- Delivery of timely and relevant management information
- Working with Head of Actuarial and peers in Accounting Service to ensure the centralised finance support model is running appropriately
- Drive the analysis of product value chains and impacts of product and sales mix on AFS KPI’s.
What we look for in you:
- Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) - Essential
- Extensive and relevant Financials Services experience
- Understanding of all relevant technical actuarial and finance competencies
- Previous experience in managing staff
- Strong analytical and financial skills with a proven ability to think laterally and strategically
- Influencing and negotiation abilities
- Exceptional communication skills.
