Manager – Asset Management recruitment

IIn order to help achieve this, the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) is leading and implementing key programmes of improvement and disposals across the public estate as part of a wider strategic government initiative to reform and improve public sector services. The focus will be on improving asset management practice, the reduction of costs and carbon footprint and the release of property savings.

Reporting to, and supporting the work of, the Property Asset Management Associate Director you will play a full part in contributing to SFT asset management programmes and initiatives, and in particular will deliver strategies, plans and projects for driving economies, efficiencies and effectiveness in property asset management.

You will be involved in regular negotiation with local authorities, health boards and other public sector bodies and also with the private sector, creating momentum behind a more corporate approach to public sector real estate management, providing advice, and influencing decisions.

We’re looking for a professional with a proven record in one or more of the following areas, (a) collaborative working resulting in more efficient property management; (b) implementing a project to rationalise property holdings; or (c) highly efficient/innovative property disposal.  Ideally, you’ll have a relevant qualification(s) to complement your knowledge and experience of your sector.  A sound record of project delivery and an understanding of the public/private sector interface are essential.

An enthusiastic team-player, you must also be a good communicator and negotiator, with demonstrable commercial acumen and a clear focus on implementation and delivery.

In return, a competitive, attractive salary is on offer, coupled with a final salary contributory pension (Local Government Scheme) and car allowance.
