Manager, Budgets & Forecasts Job in Portsmouth 03801, New Hampshire US
The Manager, Budgets Forecasts is responsible for the (1) development of the Company annual budget and periodic forecasting, including all key measurement areas, (2) analysis of actual variances to same, and (3) making recommendations to improve unfavorable variances. This position plays a critical role in assisting functional managers to maintain focus on existing budget performance and accuracy of forecasting.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Develop a total Company Annual Budget and periodic Forecasts (PL, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Capital Expenditures and Performance Metrics) by working with departmental Managers and the Executive Committee. Measurement: timeliness and consistency with management guidelines.
- Educate and assist department managers in understanding, developing and monitoring operating budgets and forecasts on a monthly basis. Measurement: accuracy of forecasts.
- Provide department management tools and analysis to determine cost impact of departmental changes. Measurement: accuracy of results.
- Provide management with monthly analysis of major variances against budgets, forecasts and key metrics and recommendations for improving Company’s performance to same. Measurement: quality and timeliness of analysis and recommendations.
- Assist accounting staff to develop and implement system procedures to support reporting, analysis and control requirements. Measurement: effectiveness of changes made.
- Work with managers to define and improve departmental metrics. Measurement: quality and effectiveness of recommendations.
Position Requirements:
§ Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
§ CPA or MBA
§ Minimum of six years of experience, three or more years in a senior budgeting and forecasting role with significant experience in operations and business analysis
§ The ability to work across departmental lines and to communicate clear, common objectives
§ Working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Currency with trends and issues within the software industry a major plus.
§ Critical analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate results of analysis to management at all levels
· Demonstrated leadership skills, integrity, and the ability to build professional trust and respect across all levels of the organization
