The BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER is responsible for developing Services and Education business with prospects and customers. The primary job function of the Business Development Manager is to develop and close sales of Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services, in coordination with Global Consulting Services Regional and Practice Management, who will ensure the proper team and skills are in place to perform the delivery of services to meet or exceed the expectations of the client. The secondary job function of the Business Development Manager is to build a pipeline of Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services opportunities in your territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Global Consulting Services organization sales team, you will:

--Network in your territories to develop strong business relationships with clients and partners.

--Develop strong relationships with the Software AG Account Management teams and client managers

--Work both independently and with account teams to generate leads for Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services

--Identify, qualify and develop Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services opportunities.

--Develop and present Services proposals and Statements of Work to clients for the full spectrum of Software AG services.

--Work both internally and externally with account teams and senior managers to negotiate deals.

--Close Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services deals.

--Engage with delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.

--Sell Education, Consulting and Premium Support Services as well as create and sell solutions which combine products and services

--Follow operational policies through subordinate managers and team members

REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY

--The Business Development Manager reports to a member of the Global Consulting Services Leadership Team.

--Primary working contacts are with Global Consulting Services, Sales, Presales, FCA, Legal and other internal departments.

LOCATION

--The Business Development Manager will be based out of his/her home ANYWHERE within the NORTHERN US (not necessarily the NYC area), and travel to client sites, as needed. Candidates from Philadelphia or New York City Metro Area or Toronto will be given special consideration.

REQUIREMENTS:
--10+ years experience selling consulting/professional services, with 5+ years focus on the relevant business needs

--Bachelor’s Degree required

--Strong analytical skills and organizational skills

--A natural leader and proven winner with the ability to work collaboratively with others and make deals happen; target oriented

--Solid business acumen and Systems Integration background

--Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization

--Exceptional communication, teaming, presentation and negotiating skills

--Knowledge of Software AG or related products, solutions, education and services offerings as well as competitor’s offerings to be able to sell large solutions.

--Understand and applies program/project management methods and processes to define, plan, cost, resource, track and ensure successful pursuit

--Functional knowledge of EAI, B2B, BPM, MDM and SOA

--The successful candidate’s background will include having established and executed call plans, orchestrated account-planning sessions and effectively executed account strategies.

--Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment

--Proven ability to lead a cross functional team and lead through influence

--Demonstrated understanding of market disciplines, competitive landscape and current technologies

--Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical concepts

--Demonstrated experience positioning/selling to the executive level

--Ability and willingness to travel 50-75%
