Reporting to the Head of Business Practices (OR) - Markets, the Manager, Business Practices (OR) - Markets, will be required to support the effective management of Operational Risk (OR) for the Global Markets Asia business. The incumbent will manage the day to day operational risk issues arising in Global Markets Singapore and provide support on issues and reporting across the Asia network, to ensure that operational risk obligations are effectively and efficiently managed within Group and Institutional frameworks and the agreed risk appetite for the Global Markets business.
The incumbent will engage with stakeholders within both the trading room and enablement functions to achieve a well managed and sustainable operational risk environment that is compliant with internal and external requirements and benchmarks.
Your major areas of responsibility will include:
Operational Risk Management
· Assist in the embedding a sound operational risk framework within Global Markets Asia.
· Assist with the identification and subsequent management of key risk areas for Global Markets Asia to identify and maintain an end-to-end operational risk profile for the business.
· Assist with the recording, management, reporting and review of operational risk events, incidents or breaches as they pertain to
· Assist with the identification and maintenance of Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) Key Control Indicators (KCI's) and management metrics used to reflect the operational risk profile of the business.
· Coordinate the functioning of the Global Markets Asia Risk Forum, including preparation of report packs, minutes and tracking of deliverables.
· Promote strategies for the identification and reduction of operational risk within Global Markets Asia.
Monitoring and Testing
· Coordinate with in-country Quality Assurance teams to ensure effective monitoring and reporting programs covering operational risk for Global Markets Singapore.
People Management Training
· Contribute to the overall up-skilling of Markets staff in operational risk disciplines.
· Monitor training / accreditation to ensure staff is within group guidelines.
· Monitor industry best practice to keep up to date with operational risk developments and competitor practices and up-skill staff to track these benchmarks.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
· Coordinate the effective management and oversight of business continuity and disaster recovery activities per group standards, including periodic testing, to ensure the business can provide critical services to key customers in the event of a major business disruption.
· Assist Head of Business Practices (OR) - Markets, in ensuring compliance with MAS, and other relevant regulatory standards and Group and Institutional frameworks.
Qualifications Experience
As our preferred candidate you have
Additionally exposure to Markets and/or Investment Banking and resulting awareness of core products is essential. An ability to think 'outside the box' coupled with relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
Practical experience managing operational risk within a banking environment and exposure to ANZ operating model and systems highly regarded.
