Manager, Campaign Design and Measurement Job in Toronto, Ontario Canada
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you seeking a position where you can use your statistical analysis, analytical and technical skills? Scotiabank's Decision Support and Management group is seeking a Manager, Campaign Design and Measurement to join their growing team. The Manager will focus on completing complex statistical analysis on effects of direct contact campaigns. You will be required to provide a framework for effective usage of predictive models and other techniques for customer contacts. This analysis will be used by marketing and business lines to identify and action profitable business opportunities and evaluate the impacts of these actions.
Other responsibilities include providing Scotiabank with knowledge pertaining to effects of direct contact campaigns. Some examples of accountabilities that you will have with respect to this include campaign test design using statistical testing methodologies, creation and maintenance of automated campaign reporting and feedback and commentary on campaign results to Scotiabank head office personnel.
The Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Campaign Design and Measurement in support of the position accountabilities. This position has no direct reports.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The Manager will be responsible for conducting statistical analysis to support the effective delivery of direct and database marketing campaigns to the Canadian Banking customer base.
- Performance metrics will be defined by the Senior Manager (subject to approval by the Director Head, Business Analysis Decision Support), and will include successful project execution measures (on time, on budget, accurate, complete), net impact of recommendations driven by campaign analysis and ability to learn to new concepts and take on progressively more complex assignments.
- Further Decision Support utilization within Scotiabank by developing a proficiency in data mining and customer contact evaluation and by effectively communicating the benefits of these techniques.
- Campaign design and evaluation analysis - provide expert consultation with respect to test cell design and sizes to achieve desired statistical significance and power at minimum costs. Provide subject matter expertise on statistical modeling, data mining and customer contact effect estimation to senior management and other departments of Scotiabank, as required.
- Automation, production and presentation of campaign analysis reporting using programming techniques based in SAS and SQL to develop, implement and maintain a set of programs that track the responses to the direct marketing campaigns. These programs need to be designed to run with no regular intervention (completely automated and scheduled). Perform in depth ad-hoc analysis on specific campaigns as required.
- Statistical analysis - support marketing and business lines by understanding campaign objectives, investigating data requirements, extracting and cleansing the necessary data, completing technical analysis, and presenting results, often to individuals with limited exposure to statistics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of statistical analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to interpret and consolidate large amount of information in actionable recommendations. 5 years previous experience in an analyst function is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and translate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Strong presentation skills. Must be able to influence business stakeholders on analytical approaches.
- Strong Knowledge of Relational Database
- Understanding banking and financial services products
- Working knowledge of banking information systems and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
- Strong programming skills (SAS and SQL)
EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in a quantitative or statistical field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science is required.
