Manager, Capability
The Manager, Capability is responsible for strengthening the productivity and profitability for RFS line of business by building sales skills within the branches/markets, finding solutions on escalated issues, establishing goals and coaching using the performance planning process. The incumbents in this position will act as liaison between the markets, branch networks and supporting corporate departments providing sales and service coaching expertise and professional, consultative support.
You will find success based on your ability to:
- Build sales skills/capability across the sales field through working with the Branch Managers.
- Identify top training priorities that affect performance consistency and skill proficiency and recommend priorities, solutions and action plans.
- Participate in coaching sessions conducted by Branch Managers for their sales staff and work with them to enhance sales skills and for managers to be more effective sales coaches.
- Design and deliver creative, practical solutions to address these gaps using various delivery methods that may include skillbuilders, job-aides, workshops, etc
- Provide coaching and assistance to the Branch Managers with the use of CRM and other relevant tools and systems.
- Assist with the implementation of activities that supports the attainment of RFS business plan.
- In collaboration with CLC, review required learning outcomes and participates in the identification of a strategy to achieve business outcomes.
- Work closely with other team members to coordinate efforts and ensure that solutions and approaches are consistently applied in all branches/markets.
- Champions change with internal business partners and stakeholders through the development and sustainment of effective working relationships.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Sales Process.
- Provide key insights on possible sales and service strategies and “best practices” used throughout the Market.
- Develop strong understanding of ATB Sales Process and be viewed as the subject matter expert in its processes, policies, and standards.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to the RFS leadership teams.
- Work closely with the Managing Director, Capability to address any gaps or inadequacies in training that may be revealed by customer experience metrics.
Job Requirements:
As the ideal candidate you possess:
- Understands the value of coaching to sales
- Knowledge of branch operations, TRIM survey methodology, and human resources management principles
- Understanding of business drivers and levers, having insight into business trends and changes that are affecting the way we do business
- Demonstrated commitment to continual learning
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proven experience in a needs based selling environment
- Excellent interpersonal, consultative and communication skills with the ability to express ideas and information clearly and logically using stories, metaphors and analogies
- Demonstrated ability to coach to and nurture desired behaviours
- Strong collaborator with excellent relationship-building skills
Designations/training required/prerequisites:
- The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of related experience in a sales and service customer-driven organization, and a minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience with a focus on coaching and associate development.
- A post-secondary degree in business or a related discipline is required
