Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Work closely with SVP, Communications and Director, Communications to manage internal/external communications and press efforts for NBCU TV Network's properties relating to affiliate sales, marketing, digital distribution and community relations
Generate publicity for two divisions in trade, business and consumer press via strategically pitched stories, executive interviews and strategic announcements.
React immediately and strategically to situations requiring crisis management.
Stay attuned to developments in content distribution landscape and update team/provide talking points as needed.
Draft press releases, executive notes, media alerts and talking points for key announcements
Research, identify, and schedule key speaking opportunities and award nominations for executives and division.
Develop positive relationships with NBCU executives, internal and external clients and distribution partners (i.e. MVPD partners, Apple, etc.) and provide consistent messaging to all constituencies for key announcements.
Work closely to develop and execute press strategy on priority affiliate marketing promotions for NBCU cable networks and digital initiatives, working closely with the cable network press teams
Act as media strategist for key assigned initiatives
Service daily media requests and act as source of information for Content Distribution.
Execute bi-monthly Content Distribution staff meeting.
Create presentations, briefing books and prepare talking points and QA's for talent and executives.
Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news.
Update and maintain press kit contents including bios, fact sheets, photos, etc.
Create media lists and update press contacts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
3-5 years in public relations/corporate communications and or entertainment/cable experience
Bachelor's Degree Eligibility Requirements:

Ability to multi-task, handling varied projects including writing news releases, employee communications, briefing notes, QAs, FAQs and numerous other writing assignments.
Proactive, creative and strategic thinking plus strong external and team coordination.
Understanding of and ability to execute corporate communications strategy quickly and in a way that furthers TV Nets/Digital Distribution’s goals/objectives.
Proven skills in crisis management and interfacing with all levels of executives and media.
