Manager, Corporate Planning Analysis

Title: Manager, Corporate Planning Analysis Location: New York-New York Other Locations: As a key member of Corporate Planning, the Manager in this role will be responsible for supporting the global capital planning and analysis process for American Express. Specifically, the Manager in this role will lead many of the analytics we use to support AXP's senior management, the Board of Directors and outside regulators in understanding the impact to our capital from multiple economic scenarios, capital distribution plans and corporate actions (acquisitions, etc.). These analytics include developing and maintaining economic models that predict business metrics, determining inputs to key PL line drivers and creating a full PL and corresponding capital metrics under various scenarios. These analytics will directly support our quarterly stress tests as well as AXP's annual capital plan submitted to the Federal Reserve Board. In addition, the Manager in this role will be an integral part of the one of Corporate Planning's cross functional industry teams, aimed to provide our senior leaders with critical insights into emerging trends external to AXP. Lastly, the Manager in this role will also support other various long-range planning and decision support work including analytics for Operating Committees, Senior Management meetings, Board meetings and other AXP senior leadership discussions. This role will provide the incumbent Manager with significant developmental opportunities, including: . Detailed understanding of capital management and how capital is impacted by various macro environments and company-led strategic actions . Understanding of regulatory environment and Bank Holding Company implications . Strong understanding of external (economic) and internal (key metrics) drivers on AXP's PL . Develop a broad network of colleagues across multiple disciplines (Treasury, Risk, Membership Rewards, Investor Relations, etc.) . Experience supporting AXP's senior leaders, including; Board of Directors, Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), Treasurer, Head of Corp. Planning, AXP CFO . Insight into emerging trends within the industry outside of American Express ¦ Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work with ambiguity ¦ Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and through presentations.
