HSBC’s Regional Corporate Sustainability office develops, champions and coordinates the implementation of a full spectrum of corporate sustainability initiatives, encompassing community investment, sustainable business and operations, and employee engagement throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Sustainability is defined as managing our business responsibly and sensitively for long-term success, achieving a balance of economic, environmental and social imperatives while at the same time addressing the expectations of shareholders, customers, employees, communities and other stakeholders.
We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team in the role of Manager Corporate Sustainability Asia Pacific.
In this role you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of HSBC's volunteering programme in Hong Kong
- Identify community service opportunities; promote them internally to recruit staff volunteers; mobilize volunteers to lead service activities and deliver desired social impact; and communicate and report result of volunteering activities, which consists of management information data as well as human stories, according to Group requirements
- Support HSBC's global community initiatives, such as Junior Achievement More Than Money and the HSBC Water Programme, as well as local flagship programmes such as the HSBC Community Partnership Programme, through organising staff volunteering opportunities
- Be a source of positive energy, enthusiasm, inspiration and good will to continuously motivate HSBC volunteers to participate in service activities and to achieve high service standards. Communicate with staff volunteers from all corners of the organisation to build rapport and teamwork
- Organise incentive events to recognise volunteer achievements, such as the annual volunteer recognition dinner
- Assist Customer and Functional Groups as internal customers in their community service activities
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- A track record of community service, either as a volunteer or as part of the job, that is, if there is prior work experience in a similar role attained from a business organisation.
- Solid experience in working with relevant stakeholders, most importantly internal staff and charity organisations, to develop and deliver community programmes and volunteering activities.
- Knowledge in the NGO sector
- Excellent command of English and Chinese, which must include both speaking and writing skills, effective in communicating with both the business and NGO sectors
- A background in corporate communication and marketing will be an advantage
- An innovative and outgoing personality with attention to detail and time management skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
