Manager, Cost Competitiveness and Competitive Intelligence Job in Lake Forest, Illinois US

The primary role of this job is to lead the execution of the strategic analysis and formation of strategies for specific products to ensure the cost competitiveness of Hospira products across all regions. These activities will be performed based on the internally collected data from across the value chain of each product as well as based on the external data, coming from the benchmarking across the industry, competitive intelligence work and recent trends in the industry/markets. Manager will need to interact with the leaders of various functions inside and outside of operations and ensure the holistic view on the strategy for each of the products within the scope. The manager will work directly with the commercial regions to solicit their input for developing the holistic recommendations for each product as well as with SC/Manufacturing/Procurement stakeholders. In addition, the findings and recommendations will need to be presented to the SLT members and in ESOP forum on a monthly/quarterly basis.

1. Support the prioritization of Cost Competitiveness Council activities. Work with the commercial regions and GMCD to identify and agree on the priorities for CCC focus.

2. Lead the collection and synthesis of data related to the specific products Manager will be responsible for collecting and analyzing the data related to the products assigned to him/her. The scope for each product will be global and thus will require collection of information from across the globe.

3. Competitive Intelligence. Collect, analyze and synthesize information regarding the parenteral manufacturing industry, and establish mechanism for conveying information to the Operations Leadership Team. Develop and maintain a robust profile of major competitors in each region (including their scale, footprint, competencies, and manufacturing and operational capabilities). Translate the competitive intelligence information into what it means for the analyzed products and for the different components of their value chain.

4. Develop strategies to improve cost competitiveness of specific products Based on the analysis of product specific information, competitive intelligence data, benchmarks and industry trends, develop a set of strategies/recommendations that will improve and sustain cost competitiveness and competitive advantage on the market. Present these strategies for approval to the Senior Leadership Team through the Cost Competitive Council.

5. Update LRP . Translate the projected cost reduction recommendations into the estimated future standard costs, and update Operations and Commercial Long Range Plant based on the new data.
