Job Description

To ensure that the quality of the FI credit portfolio of Wholesale Banking in FIR is maintained within acceptable parameters, as defined by WB credit policy and country underwriting standards (CUS), and that the reporting of information relating to that portfolio is timely and accurate.
Optimization of economic capital to create sustainable value in WB business by shaping and agreeing risk appetite that helps to achieve a desired risk profile from which we can secure optimum returns over the longer term.
To instil a strong credit culture by setting the highest standards and demanding that these are maintained by all Business teams in country.
Proactive management of the portfolio credit risk profile within agreed risk appetite. Reducing PL volatility by running a "Surprise free" and well managed WB book.
To be the contact point on FI credit risk matters on your portfolio for senior management queries and external auditors.

Key Roles Responsibilities

-The Manager Credit -FIR Europe has responsibility for the credit exposure of banks, investment institutions and sovereign in a portfolio of European countries, and the approval of annual credit reviews.
-Proposals for running credit limits, excesses and trade transactions are approved within personal credit authorities or supported for approval at high levels within the organisation, including Group Credit Committee.
-To ensure adherence to policy and underwriting standards.
-Ad hoc reporting and presentation of routine management information.
-Providing guidance to the Business on facility structuring and credit appetite.

Qualifications Skills

-The candidate should hold the Credit Skills Assessment, the Core Credit Curriculum, or an equivalent qualification.
- A knowledge of credit risk analysis, and ideally experience of credit approval.
- Good communications skills.
- Ability to deliver results under time pressure and to work without close supervision.
- An understanding of macro economics.
- An understanding of Wholesale Bank products.
- An ambition to progress within the organisation.
