The Customer Logistics Manager is responsible for developing and managing supply chain interfaces between distributors supply chain operations and GP Professional away from home businesses. This position is responsible for implementing supply chain programs that achieve customer satisfaction while improving supply chain efficiencies, costs and service. 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Develop and execute value added supply chain programs for GP Professional (GP) and our customers through direct interaction with customers operations in the western sales regions.

Monitor supply chain processes to ensure that both GP and our customer's needs are met. 

Serve as point of contact for Sales, Customer Service and external Customers for Supply Chain and Logistics issues and opportunities. 

Develop and maintain relationships within customer functional areas to create joint supply chain strategy aimed at improving profitability and growth, as well as drive strategic partnerships to create a competitive advantage for GP.  Identify customer behaviors that drive inefficiency and / or unnecessary cost into supply chain activities and work with Field Sales, Customer Service and external Customers to improve efficiency and reduce cost-to-serve.  Reduce or eliminate non value added costs in the supply chain.

Analyze data and reports on service, cost-to-serve, and any other supply chain data that lends to the development of programs to drive excellent service to customers at the lowest cost to GP. 

Administers terms and conditions business policies. Removes barriers prohibiting improvement or adherence to terms and conditions.

Implement programs to improve customer on-time as requested delivery performance.

Leads cross functional teams to facilitate improved business practices and develop policies to achieve efficiencies at best cost.  Provides voice of the customer and industry best practices back into the internal organization for potential improvements in the supply chain.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree required with preference for studies in Logistics or Supply Chain related programs. MBA desired.   Experience: At least five years supply chain / logistics experience 

 

Travel: Travel is required. Estimate is 25% - 50%.  Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:

 

Understanding of supply chain operations; Proven track record of customer supply chain improvements; Previous management or leadership roles preferred; Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, PowerPoint, project management; Quick problem analysis and resolution techniques; Strong organizational, communication and presentation techniques.

 

Economic and critical thinking, problem solving and knowledge. Customer-focused self-starter, results driven, team player, strong leadership, ability to analyze information and situations to identify improvement opportunities.
