Job Description:
The role
Within the Technology Risk team, a specialist function exists that provides advisory and assurance Data services around Governance, Quality, Management, Control, Risk and Reporting. Many of these engagements involve tactical teams who require experienced Data specialists to manage engagements and provide SME input.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities attributable to this role will include some or all of the following:
- Managing delivery of advisory or assurance services.
- Management of Financial Services Data related engagements supporting either Advisory or Assurance related programmes.
- Scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables.
- Building and managing excellent client relationships across a range of clients.
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as supporting the team with sales activities such as proposal writing and assisting with client presentation.
- Participate in a service line, reporting to the service line leader on service development, sales and delivery.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, but in particular in the wider IT Advisory areas.
- Coaching and developing team members on engagements.
- Contributing to practice management, eg training, knowledge management.
- Management of specific value added assurance services.
The Individual
Successful candidates will display a combination of the following:
- Proven experience of successfully managing Data services to Financial Services clients.
- Experience in business analysis and understanding of core business processes within the FS market.
- Proven experience in identifying and managing sales opportunities.
- Defined and measured people management skills.
- Recognised accounting / auditing (eg CISA) qualification or Degree/masters qualification in IT/business/Engineering or Maths.
- Experience in some of the following or similar technology areas
- Data Analytics (SAS, SQL, SSIS Reporting Services, BI, Cubes)
- Data Quality (Trillium, Data Flux, Datanomic)
- Data Storage (SQL Server, Oracle, Terradata)
- Data Reporting (Excel)
- Understanding and experience in;
- Data Governance
- Data Strategies (Migration, storage, change etc)
- Fraud, AML, Financial reporting, SCV, Enterprise Data Management or any regulatory activities (Basel, FSCS, PPI etc)
- A good understanding of risk and issues that would be encountered by our clients during major IT projects.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and first rate interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Ability to present on specific subjects to a group of people (internal staff or clients/potential clients).
- Ability to identify and assess complex IT risks and controls, to relate them to the wider business environment and to express opinions clearly.
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop excellent client and internal relationships.
- Ability to deliver work within tight timescales, to budget and to a high quality.
- Strong team player but able to work on own initiative.
