Manager ECAPS recruitment
Introduction:
ECAPS is a cutting-edge market risk management system used by Corporate Risk Management Department and the insurance business units of ING Insurance.
The Manager ECAPS will have the primary responsibility to lead a team of 15. The role involves the diverse management of both an IT/Systems team as well as risk professionals. The work includes balancing the team between the monthly quarterly economical capital production calendar and the design, implementation and testing of new software development.
Economic Capital is externally reported therefore the process must be fully controlled and governed and must comply with regular internal and external audits. Methodological development and projects such as Solvency II, will include working closely with other teams within the Risk Department.
Software development requires working with external software vendors and the ability to create clear requirements and solid negotiation skills are a must.
The Manager ECAPS is also responsible for the platform development and delivery of user support and education. Education and support initiatives include ECAPS support site, web casts, ECAPS Academy and the ECAPS Flying Squad. The Academy and Squad will require travelling to the business units and business lines. Your experience and skills:
Personal profile:
A university level of education in business administration or computer science
At least 10 years working experience
Working experience in IT; Risk Management is advantageous
Exposure to Basel II or Solvency II is pre
Strong verbal and written skills (work language is English)
Excellent people skills
Risk/Finance:
knowledge of risk management and reporting (Economic Capital, Life Insurance, Market Risks), financial markets and financial instruments including modeling and replication theory
knowledge of the ING Insurance Risk Management column would be a plus.
IT/System:
general system architecture knowledge (platforms, interactions between modules, interfaces, databases, log files, etc), databases and complex data processes
experience with documentation and governance of system-related processes
ability to identify and implement processes and system improvements
Project Management:
experienced oversight of projects involving business processes, reporting, development, and testing.
ability to deliver on time and within budget.
Leadership/Management qualities:
effective team leader; demonstrated the ability to hold people accountable for jobs, performance, tasks and results
excellent communication, presentation skills (verbal and written English) and emotional intelligence

Corporate Risk Management Group Insurance controls financial insurance risks for ING Group in order to provide an efficient allocation of capital, profitable growth, required returns on economic capital and embedded value and predictability in earnings. Corporate Risk Management Group Insurance controls financial insurance risks by:
providing independent review, as well as policies guidelines, for financial insurance risks in ING Group
advising the Executive Board on financial insurance risks
being proactive in insurance risk management leadership, including product, reserve, and market risks, to business units internally and the industry externally
providing clear, consistent, understandable and actionable financial risk management information
