As Manager Environmental Services, imagine yourself * Developing, maintaining, and implementing policies, procedures and protocols to ensure that the facilities maintain a high level of environmental cleanliness. Ensure that established policies, goals and objectives are achieved. * Contributing to quality improvement activities by making suggestions for improvements in processes and supports change efforts in the organization and department. Continually works toward increased efficiency by seeking out new techniques and equipment. * Maintaining a waste disposal and recycling program that ensures safe handling within the hospital and community. This includes proper disposal of infectious and toxic wastes. Keeps current of regulations and guidelines governing hospital wastes, managing a program that properly identifies and handles hazardous or infectious waste. * Managing all special cleaning projects including scheduling of service cleaning, blinds, and windows and performs facility inspections to ensure the required cleaning standards are met. * Ensuring productivity, budgetary, and employee engagement targets and standards are met and continually monitors and adjusts plans as needed. * Developing, monitoring, and operating within the annual capital, personnel and operating budgets for assigned areas. * Ensuring areas meet local, state and federal compliance standards, guidelines and practices and meets accreditation standards of the Joint Commission. * Researching, coordinating, and managing any contracted cleaning services. Prepares and mails requests for proposals, and negotiates cleaning service bids. * Performing human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, pay adjustments, resolution of employee concerns, disciplinary counseling, terminations, and employee morale. * Being responsible for understanding and adhering to the Aurora Health Care Code of Excellence and for ensuring personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws that affect Aurora's business.
