Manager – Financial Accounting & Reporting Services
The Accounting, Valuation, Analytics ("AVA") service area is comprised of professionals with skills related to the understanding and application of technical accounting standards, financial reporting, valuation techniques and methodologies for derivatives, financial instruments, and other investment products, forward price curve development methodologies, quantitative risk assessment and forecasting models, structured finance transactions, cash flow modeling, data integrity, data modeling, statistical sampling, capital markets transaction support and due diligence. In addition, with experience and training in the audit approach and testing procedures, many AVA professionals provide subject matter assistance to audit engagement teams.
- Develop excellent professional oral and written communication skills in order to establish working relationships with client personnel
- Exhibit a professional, business–like demeanor
- Apply problem solving skills and deliver Deloitte methodology on engagements
- Build and broaden industry knowledge to support organization and function initiatives by taking advantage of our AERS Learning curriculum of eLearning modules and local and national training programs
- Exercise professional judgment on engagements by providing proactive solutions and recommendations
- Provide recommendations for improved and enhanced business efficiency to clients
- Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to ERS interns
- Proactively manage career – set goals and career plans with advisor/career counselor
- Develop and manage strong client relationships through interactions with client personnel
- Demonstrate knowledge in industry or functional specialty
- Assume responsibility for managing engagements.
- Lead teams on large engagements
- Lead engagement planning and ensure that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan
- Recognize, communicate and lead opportunities to sell "add–on" work and new work to clients
- Writing/reviewing of various reports related to engagements
- Present to internal and external audiences

- BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business related field required
- US CPA
- MBA/MS/MA degree is a plus
- CFA, CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification is a plus
- 8+ years related experience required
- Financial service industry experience is a plus
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards is a plus (e.g. IAS 39, IAS 32, FAS 133, FAS 157, FAS 140, FIN (46(R)), FAS 159)
- Prior public accounting or consulting experience is preferred
- Team leadership skills/management experience
- Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical and organization skills
- Analytical and detail oriented
- Team oriented
- Ability and willingness to travel 75%
