Manager Financial Crime Compliance, AML Wealth Management
The Manager Financial Crime Compliance, AML Wealth Management role is based within HSBC's UK regulated entities including their European businesses, and all business lines within the responsibility of the Regional Compliance Officer Europe, including relevant activities in respect of the four Global Business Lines, i.e. Retail Banking.
The role of the Manager Financial Crime Compliance, AML Wealth Management is to be responsibile for undertaking the following as well as leading a team carrying out anti-money laundering compliance due diligence and monitoring activities across all sectors but specialising in Wealth Management in order to assist management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct enhanced due diligence on clients that may pose a heightened AML risk, as identified by the business or other relevant identification indicators and related Group policy
- Input may be required from the Business Intelligence Unit in particularly sensitive or complex cases which may require escalation to the Reputational Risk Committee.
- Handle Compliance Case Management to include the review of internal Suspicious Activity Reports, with a view to determining whether a disclosure should be made by the relevant MLRO.
- Work closely with payments team to review and investigate transactions held in the WOLF filter. Interact with RMs and seek guidance from MLRO function and HBUS as appropriate.
- Perform screening and review due diligence of proposed clients and perform 'Know your customer' checking of clients to minimise reputation, regulatory or money laundering risk.
- Review and analyse compliance monitoring reports (NORKOM) to identify unusual/suspicious customer activity. Provide recommendations after obtaining relevant KYC information, transactional details and supporting documentation. Follow-up with responsible area for explanations escalte when necessary. Determine thresholds and other parameters to minimise the number of false alerts generated by the system for investigation
