Manager Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions
The Manager Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions role is based within HSBC's UK regulated entities including their European businesses, and all business lines within the responsibility of the Regional Compliance Officer Europe, including relevant activities in respect of the four Global Business Lines, i.e. Retail Banking.
The role of the Manager Financial Crime Compliance, Sanctions is to act as the primary contact to the AML local advisory teams who will liaise with the relevant businesses to ensure compliance with regards to Sanctions imposed by the UK, European Union (EU), United Nations (UN), and USA, whilst ensuring compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the AML local advisory teams of the relevant businesses on UN/EU/UK/US sanctions regimes and related HSBC Group policies, including advice regarding alerts produced by payment and client screening systems
- In collaboration with the Senior Compliance Managers and Policy Manager in the MLRO Function, maintain responsibility for oversight and distribution of sanctions related policies and guidance
- Ensure a consistency of approach to Sanctions across all businesses and ensure that the sanctions framework remains appropriate and in line with regulatory requirements and Group policies. Where required, to provide proposal for improvements
- Manage and provide oversight to the Level 3 Wolf and SCDM Investigation team, which reviews and investigate real time payment alerts from Wolf, and the sanction matches from SCDM or GBM screening tool
- Coordinate across the UK and European businesses, all Sanctions, Terrorist and Group searches issued by Group Compliance. Provide advice and guidance on any follow-up action required and ensure records are appropriately evidenced. Arranges for closure
- Oversee the biannual AML / Sanctions key performance indicators for the UK and Europe businesses
