Manager – Fund Accounting – AVP recruitment
Our client, a leader in providing financial services to a multitude of institutional clients, is looking to grow its team locally in Hong Kong and is looking for an experienced fund accountant to join its business in a leadership capacity. This role is well suited to a dynamic leader, who is continuously looking for ways to improve their team’s performance and ability. You will be responsible for overseeing the production of portfolio accounting related reports on a regular basis including NAV’s and daily unit pricing.
The role is diverse in scope and will be demanding.
You will be responsible for:
- Management, oversight of the customer service and performance of the team.
- Managing the efficiency surrounding the production of NAVs, financial statements and related accounting for funds.
- Direct management of two managers and indirect management of approximately 15 Fund / Senior Fund Accountants.
- Directing staff appraisals and goal setting, monitoring performance and and KPI’s.
- Coaching and facilitating training to the greater team
- Internal and external stakeholder management and working with related teams part of the greater global business to maintain that service offering is uniform.
- Ownership of the departments controls
- Represent the team regularly with senior management
- Providing updates to the greater business in respect of the fund accounting team
- Maintaining and working to the firms strict internal compliance framework
To be considered for this role you will have come from a Fund Accountant background with a broad overview of a fund’s Custodian bank and Investment Managers. Communication is absolutely crucial in this position so you will need strong communication and will be able to communicate with several key internal stakeholders and senior management (strong English and Mandarin are desired). You will have a university degree and have relevant accounting qualifications. You will have strong leadership experience with a high degree of energy and initiative.
