Manager, Global Data Management

Macquarie's business is structured into six operating groups and four service groups.
Market Operations provides independent specialist verification, confirmation and settlement facilities for a variety of products and currencies for many of Macquarie's businesses globally. The division provides a key segregated control function for wholesale businesses built on strong operational risk management and a control culture that is consistent and resilient.
You will be responsible for:
- The Global Data Management team provides a framework for centralizing and segregating the collection and input of reference data.
- The Global Data Management team maintains reference data for:
- Macquarie External and Internal customer core details and various classifications for APRA, ABS and ATO reporting.
- Macquarie External and Internal customer contact details for operations purposes.
- Macquarie External and Internal customer settlement details.
- Macquarie External and Internal customer core details for regulatory reporting in numerous jurisdictions.
- Market information including rates, prices, events and instrument static that feed the trading systems.
- Supervise a staff of over 4.
- Internal role working closely with staff, senior management and other support functions
- Working with Macquarie Groups/ Divisions globally
- Overseeing the daily operations of the team supporting multiple businesses of Macquarie globally.
- Monitoring the processing of reference data including market, customer, physical commodity and payment data
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Coaching and mentoring staff
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing deadlines.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a back office or data management role within a financial institution

Business Knowledge
- Experience working in a bank, ideally equity markets, fixed income and/or foreign exchange in the back office
- Experience on-boarding new processes into the team - i.e. procedures, training etc.
- Understanding of the importance of controls and procedures within the Market Operations Division
- Appreciation of cut off times for processing of various currencies/markets
Leadership Skills
- Experience in staff development and in identifying strengths and development needs of staff
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work under pressure

- Strong Risk management skills
- Ability to monitor the implementation of Market Operations policies within the team
- A high level of responsibility for the output of work by the team

- A high level and current understanding of SWIFT message formats
- A high level and current understanding of payment formatting
- Understanding of global securities instrument static
- Ability to write/ present clear and concise communications
