Position Description:
Global Disclosure Standard and Control

The Global Disclosure Standard and Control team ("GDSC") are
responsible for the preparation of a number of significant
disclosures under US GAAP, IFRS and UK GAAP published in Morgan
Stanley's 10K/10Q, regulatory filings to the Federal Reserve and
Financial Services Authority and local statutory accounts.

The key areas of disclosure include: derivatives, fair value
measurement, consolidation of special purposes entity, collateral
and certain financial instrument risk disclosures.

GDSC forms a significant component of the Global Accounting
Reporting and Control Group (GARC) team which is part of the Global
Finance Division.

Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the production, review and
analysis of Securitization and Variable Interest Entity (VIE)
disclosures (ASC 810/ASC 860), Secured Borrowings disclosure, Fair
Value disclosures, Derivatives disclosures and "Commitments
Guarantees" disclosures in the consolidated MS Group financial
statements as well as the financial statements of 7 significant MS
subsidiaries including MS Co.

This position is also responsible for the preparation and review of
relevant sections of the consolidated FR Y-9C, legal entity FR Y-11
regulatory filings to the Federal Reserve as well as filings to
FINRA related to the above SEC disclosures in 10-Q/10-K
filings.

This position will also have responsibility for:

- creating and administering a standardized process for the
accounting and regulatory reporting (for assigned disclosures) and
ensuring the consistency and compliance with the standards set
forth by the Firm's Accounting Policy function and the
regulators.

- these processes involve coordination with other regions across
the Business Unit controllers, valuation review groups, Operations
and Accounting Policy to ensure the transactional level disclosure
data reconciles to books and records and related disclosures adhere
to US GAAP.

- analyze changes in the business and market in conjunction with
their accounting disclosure impacts on a monthly/quarterly basis by
interacting with the Business Unit controllers.

Skills Required:
• Qualified accountant with extensive reporting and general
financial control experience.
• In-depth technical knowledge of US GAAP and a willingness to
develop knowledge of IFRS.
• Practical experience of application of GAAP within a financial
services environment.
• Evidence of working closely with other Finance functions and an
ability to develop good working relationships both locally and in
other locations.
• Proven ability to initiate and enhance the control framework for
Finance functions.
• Excellent organizational skills to achieve deliverables and
objectives efficiently and maintain a high standard of client
service.
• Proven leadership ability in resolving issues and implementing
initiatives.
• Strong communication skills.
