Manager, Human Resources

Position Summary:
Implements and operationalizes the Human Resources policies of the company. Manages assigned department staff and operations to achieve consistent application of policies. Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local employment regulations. Provides professional level HR support to assigned groups or locations in the following areas: employee relations, payroll, benefits, employment, compensation, safety and training to support company and departmental objectives. Identifies and implements process improvement initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned staff to ensure effect and consistent delivery of Human Resource services to the management and employees of the company.
- Responsible for the delivery of professional level HR guidance to management and the following HR areas: employee relations, payroll, benefits, employment, compensation, training, Affirmative Action, and/or performance management.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Operationalizes HR procedures to achieve compliance with Federal, State, and Local employment regulations.
- Develops and implements HR procedures to achieve internal operating objectives.
- Comply with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.
- May coordinate with Payroll function to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance with legal requirements and proper maintenance of employee files. Perform regular audit of payroll processing to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Drive continuous process improvement in order to achieve greater efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible professional level HR generalist experience.
- Demonstrated effective supervisory or management experience.
- Proven effective problem solving, prioritization, communication, and PC skills required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
- Proven knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resource administration, including but not limited to policy and procedure, payroll, and benefit administration; regulatory compliance; and HR systems.
- Proven ability to evaluate employment-related situations, gather appropriate information, and provide sound guidance to management and employees.
- Demonstrated ability to independently research and analyze various types of data, trends and reports and make related business decisions.
- Demonstrated successful experience with multi-state HR responsibility preferred.
- Previous experience with process improvement programs (e.g., Six Sigma) preferred.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to provide proof of current vehicle insurance in compliance with requirements for state of residence.
- Must be able to travel by public and private modes of transport, including but not limited to air travel.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate in person and telephonically.
- Must be able to utilize a computer.
- Must be able to read handwritten, typewritten and computer screen materials.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel by air.
