At one site/medical center associated medical office buildings or assigned geographic area within a service area, manages the planning, development, implementation, evaluation/continuous improvement of an infection prevention control program across entire care continuum. Collaborates w/ makes recommendations to facility leadership team to ensure compliance w/ regulatory agencies assures facility-wide departmental policies procedures that comply w/ current Regulatory standards. Through strategic planning, expert leadership consultation, identifies implements infection control goals objectives related to: surveillance, data analysis reporting, infection prevention control practices that eliminate potential infection hazards for members, physicians, staff visitors, appropriate selection usage of products equipment related to cleaning, antisepsis, disinfection, sterilization, facility design construction. Develops implements educational programs designed to reduce or prevent infection. Provides infection prevention control programs/services that add value integrated w/ departmental, facility organizational business clinical goals/objectives. Essential Functions: - Manages the planning, development, implementation, evaluation/improvement of infection prevention control services/programs that meet or exceed established standards/performance measures for quality, member/patient satisfaction, cost, employee quality of work life, physician/client department satisfaction, clinical outcomes regulatory compliance - Coordinates integrates infection prevention control services/programs across the continuum of care (primary, secondary, continuing care) ensures that services/programs are of uniform consistent value, quality, performance cost throughout all departments in a medical center its associated outpatient/satellite buildings - Provides direct supervision leadership to Infection Control Department staff - In partnership w/ medical center managers develops, monitors modifies Infection Prevention Control Program department specific goals/objectives as appropriate - Provides services/programs which meet identified needs of client departments; assures compliance w/ applicable regulatory requirements through interpretation of Regulatory Standards, investigation of disease outbreaks exposures, surveillance reporting communicable diseases to the Department of Health Services as required - Develop operating budget, capital expense, remodel requirements as appropriate, monitors analyzes financial reports justifies variances; manages and/or reduces costs - Acts as the Infection Prevention Control liaison/consultant for the entire medical center satellites - Through surveillance activities, monitors, reports develops applicable intervention for infection trends (e.g., Regional/ Divisional Indicators, Board Report, facility specific indicators, etc) in the acute ambulatory settings - Coordinates the development review of Infection Prevention Control Standards of Care Policy Procedure manuals; develops, implements improves systems, methods, processes to evaluate/improve performance quality outcomes/ measures for infection prevention control services/programs - Together w/ the Infection Control Committee Chair, initiates research projects epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infection or serious communicable disease concern Requirements
