Manager Internal Audit – IT & Financial Services

Manage integrated internal audits and special reviews to provide assurance regarding the existence and effectiveness of financial, operational, and/or technology internal controls. Plan audit assignments in accordance with accepted professional standards and prepare formal written reports to management summarizing audit results and solutions to mitigate risk and improve operations.

Ensure that each audit is effectively planned, coordinated and reported upon. This will include designing audits to:

- Assure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls,

- Verify compliance with corporate policies and procedures and

- Identify opportunities to enhance operating efficiencies and/or reduce costs.

Direct and review work to ensure Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and departmental standards are met.

Provide recommendations to management for strengthening controls, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and enhancing operations.

Work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified.

Plan follow-up work to ensure adequate remediation of gaps by management.

Develop a customer base and establish positive rapport with Internal Audit's internal and external customers.

Assist Internal Audit management in developing Internal Audit best practices/standards and audit plans.

Draft, edit and finalize well-written audit reports.

Assist in hiring, acclimation and training of other Internal Auditors.

Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, education and direction to the audit staff.

Ensure that the staff maintains an acceptable level of productivity and quality. This will include:

- Effectively utilize the PMP to establish clear and relevant performance and professional development expectations and conducting mid-year check-ins and year-end assessments as prescribed by CME Group Human Resources.

- Enforce and adhere to timeliness requirements for preparing and discussing auditor development forms.

- Support staff participation in professional organizations.

- Encourage staff to attend relevant, beneficial and/or necessary (from the standpoint of developmental needs) training sessions.

- Manage career development and succession planning for staff.

Work with the Internal Audit Associate Director and Managing Director to create a risk-based annual audit plan. The annual risk assessment will be performed prior to year-end and will include:

- Meet with internal clients and our external auditor to determine highest risk areas, their requirements and plans.

- Modify, as necessary, our audit universe to include new and/or changing aspects of CME Group business.

- Involve clients in determining auditable areas within our audit universe/their area(s) of responsibility.

Requirements:

Minimum 7 to 10 years in internal auditing conducting financial, operational and information technology audits. Background in banking, financial services, futures exchanges or clearing houses desirable but not required. Experience in interacting with all levels of management and staff. Prior experience in conducting meetings and preparing and delivering presentations to line, middle and senior management.

Bachelor's degree with significant coursework in Accounting, Business, Information Systems and/ or Computer Science. MBA or MS degree desirable but not required.

Microsoft Professional Office Applications, including MS PowerPoint and Visio. Data Analysis tools (ACL, Business Objects, MS Access) and TeamMate or similar electronic work paper tools desirable but not required.

Prefer a CPA, CIA, CISA or CISSP certification.
