Manager – Investments recruitment
Offering a comprehensive range of individual life products, including protection and wealth accumulation products, my client is one of the leading players in the Hong Kong financial services market and is looking to appoint a Manager within their Investment team.
Providing support to the VP AVP, your role will involve managing general investment accounting functions to ensures they meets and well as comply with local and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include -
- Prepare all investment reporting
- Standardize all regular reports
- Coordinate investment committee meetings and facilitate communication w/ Investment Managers
- Review Investment Manager compliance reports
- Provide mortgage loan approval support
- Perform investment analytics on operating surplus investment portfolios
- Assist in strategy development for Portfolio Policies and Parameters (PPPs) and recommend tactical changes to investment positions
- Gather capital markets data for risk/opportunity analysis
- Participate in bi-weekly ALM meetings, and hedging meetings for currency/interest rate risk
- Support the annual investment planning process and monitoring of investment programs for Private Fixed Income and Commercial Mortgage asset classes.
- Evaluating investment performance by asset class (combined individual)
Requirements -
- Undergraduate university degree in Investment Finance/Accounting/ Economics, or Quantitative studies/Actuarial Sciences.
- At least 5 years in investments, asset management, or lending. Employment in the insurance/banking industries preferred.
- Make investment recommendations
- Strong quantitative analytical skills
- Good communication skills (written verbal)
- Experience in asset allocation and portfolio optimization, performance measurement, and risk management (VaR and stress testing).
- Knowledge of financial accounting and investment accounting unique to the insurance industry an advantage
- Applies good knowledge of various accounting principles, e.g., Canadian, US and local GAAPs
- Previous exposure to investment portfolio systems an advantage
