The purpose of this position is to establish a highly available Global IT enterprise that provides continuous value to the business. This position will be responsible for Teleflora’s ecommerce Infrastructure that serves Business to Business and Business to Consumer segments and Corporate back office IT Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have an endless commitment to continuous improvement within IT Infrastructure support practices and team development.
This position will be a positive change agent that assists in maturing our 24x7 ecommerce Infrastructure, while establishing cross departmental relationships. The IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for establishing and supporting a cost effective Life Cycle Management process that supports the useful life of our server Infrastructure.
Problem resolution and prevention is a key part of the role and will involve the establishment of operational processes and tools to mitigate the frequency of incidents. As part of the role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day Infrastructure including performance, capacity planning maintenance, trending and analysis, and establishing an Infrastructure strategy. As the leader of technical experts, you will ensure that the Infrastructure team follow industry best practices (ITIL), and working closely with project managers to implement future Infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with other key IT resources in a collaborative fashion to define the specific practices and processes for designing and implementing highly available solutions that continue to meet the needs of the business. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully lead a team of highly talented technologists, provide direction and rally the team around the vision while embodying our values
- Server Infrastructure – predominately HP,CISCO and Windows for Corporate sites and ecommerce
- Storage Infrastructure – EMC VMax and Isilon
- Load Balancing Infrastructure – F5
- VMWare suite of products– VCOPS, VCM, VCenter, etc..
- Enterprise monitoring direction and delivery, alerting, proactive analytics, event correlation, and service desk integration, while assisting with the establishment of SLA’s
- Responsible for technical design and architecture, implementing effective performance, capacity and availability management solutions for new systems and reviewing existing applications and making recommendations as appropriate
- Ability to design and support a highly available retail Infrastructure cost effectively
- Ability to present and collaborate effectively at various levels of the organization
- Assess, implement and enhance operational tools to maximize efficiency and minimize human error
- Partner with various IT leadership on cross departmental projects to deliver solutions on time and on budget
- Provide the appropriate amount of advocacy throughout the organization to implement and drive the ITIL transformation
- Provide work force optimization by establishing the appropriate processes to channel work to the applicable skill level throughout the Infrastructure team.
- Collaborate with the leadership of various teams within to understand their strategy and align Infrastructure services accordingly
- Work together with IT leadership to drive consistency to operational management procedures
- Vendor management – establish and maintain relationships as required for IT Infrastructure
- Work closely with Project Management team to ensure that tasks related to IT Infrastructure preparation are scheduled appropriately and completed on time
- Work closely with personnel responsible for various applications to ensure that the applications and operational procedures are adequately documented and readily available
- Assist with launching and managing various transformation projects within the IT organization
- Develop options, recommendations, cost analysis, and prepare design documentation including specifications, architecture diagrams, bill of materials, project schedules, and test plans
- Manage internal and external customer projects as needed
- Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with PCI DSS and security polices
- Develop and maintain resource management tools to assess Infrastructure productivity
- Accountable and responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and internal documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Must have a customer service approach based on center of excellence principles
- Ongoing Coaching, Mentoring, and Developing of staff – establishing a clear path of individualized development
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent related work experience ; 8+ years experience with complex computer systems in a 24/7 retail services environment
- Expert level of understanding in server technology and future trends as demonstrated by past experiences
- Expert level of understanding in networking, security and application integration points as demonstrated by past experiences
- Expert level of understanding in storage area networks, preferably EMC
- Understand the trend of converging Infrastructure and how a 24x7 retail environment can benefit from these trends, preferably in an IAAS / Cloud methodology
- Candidate must possess a collaborative approach and ability to work throughout various levels of the organization possessing the ability to enforce agreed upon procedures in a consistent fashion.
- Candidate must maintain working knowledge of industry best practices specifically related to ITSM, COBIT, SANS, PCI DSS and ITIL
- Candidate must have the ability to “see the big picture”, to have a “holistic” view of systems Infrastructure.
- Candidate must be very well organized, detail oriented and have the drive to see projects through to completion within budget
- Candidate must have the ability to quickly understand the essential core of any operational situation, sorting the relevant from the irrelevant and to communicate appropriately to stakeholders at all levels.
- Candidate must be proactive and analytical, staying ahead of all issues that may arise in a complex and fast paced retail environment.
- Candidate must be able to work well with others at various levels of the organization, including Senior Executives
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
